Blijdorp
For mothers in Rotterdam

Your village lives closer than you think

Meet the mothers a few streets away — and keep what your child did today, just by saying it out loud.

Meet moms

The park is full of mothers. Nobody speaks.

Maternity leave can be the loneliest year of your life — never alone, and never with anyone. Blijdorp shows you the mothers in your own neighbourhood, by area, never an exact address.

Post an open invitation — “walking at eleven, join if you’re free” — and whoever is free says yes. Once you’ve actually met, the app gets out of the way.

Kids journal

You never had time for the notebook

So talk instead. Ten seconds, one hand, any language — a first step, how she’s sleeping this week, what you did this summer. It becomes a written page with the date already on it.

Add the photos that belong with the day, and every entry becomes a page in her album. Your journal is private: nobody on the map can ever see it.

The journal recorder: one large record button and the question “What made your child laugh today?”
The album

And one day, a real book

Flip through the album like a book. Share it with grandparents by a single link — they read it in their browser, no app, no account, and you can turn the link off whenever you like.

When the year is full, export it as a print-ready PDF. Square pages, one memory each. The year on a shelf instead of on a phone.

Printed album pages: dated entries with square photos, stacked as loose printed sheets

Blijdorp works by invitation

Real names, real neighbours — that’s the whole point. If you know a member, ask her for a code. If you don’t, leave your name and I’ll send you one myself.

That didn’t go through — please try once more.

Thank you — I’ll be in touch soon. 🤍
